Director's Visit to Germany

EMS (Evangelisches Missionswerk in Südwestdeutschland) in coordination with EVS (Evangelischer Verein für die Schneller Schulen) kindly arranged for the new director,Rev. George D. Haddad, to visit Germany from 20 October 2006 until the 26th. It was a wonderful opportunity for him to meet the people in both EMS and EVS and get to know how they both work to support Schneller schools. It was also a very special time as Rev. Haddad was in the Family (children's home) that Bruder Klaus Schmid (Chairman of EVS Board) was in charge of when he was working in Lebanon. The program also included visits to BBW Waiblingen, Maybach Vocational school, and the Boarding House in Kleingartach. He was able to see these wonderful schools and the vocational educational system in Germany. He attended the Sunday service in Rev. Andrias Maurer's Church during which the former director, Rev. Dr. Riad Kassis, preached and Rev. Haddad greeted the congregation. He also attended the EVS board meeting and general assembly during which Rev. Dr. Kassis was thanked for his many years of wonderful service and both Rev. Dr. Kassis and Rev. Haddad gave a report about Schneller school in Lebanon. He had meetings with most of our friends and partners in the EMS departments. It was a very special visit and a very beneficial one. We express our sincere gratitude to both EMS and EVS and all the people who contributed towards making this visit a very successful one.
