Kind Donations for Needed Projects

Ms. Sophia Peiris of Embrace the Middle East - UK visited our school on Wednesday 25 April 2018. She was able to catch up with our news after the very tough year we faced as a consequence of the new salary-scale to teachers.
She also went through the necessary paper-work and follow-up on our finances and required reporting.
She informed us that Embrace kindly decided to support our Cloud-Teaching capacity building project. A grant of GBP 2,150 was approved for this project that aims at upgrading the skills of JLSS teachers to start utilizing Microsoft OneNote Class-Notebook and Office 365 in teaching.
A special training seminar will be held in September 2018 by a Microsoft local partner for this purpose.
JLSS has been working on this project for the last two years.
We thank Ms. Peiris for her visit, and we express our sincere gratitude to her and Embrace the Middle East for their wonderful support of our school.

Mr. Hans Eppler, member of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg who is from Erpfingen the birthplace of Johann Ludwig Schneller, visited JLSS with Mr. Ahmad Rami Debs in April 2018. They kindly donated US$ 9,500 to our school. This grant will be used along with the EVS matching-grant for buying the needed CNC lathe for the Industrial Mechanics workshop.
Our students will no more need to travel to vocational schools in Zahle to train on CNC lathes in preparation for the official exams. We will finally have our own CNC lathe thanks to EVS, Mr. Eppler and Mr. Debs.
We express our most sincere gratitude to them for this generous donation and their kind support of our school.

Mr. Wolfgang Saier visited JLSS with Mr. Carlos Nafaa on Sunday 29 April 2018. His mother, Mrs. Luise Saier, who lately passed away was an old friend of JLSS. She used to ask friends and family toSteel Welding Machine donate money to JLSS instead of buying her gifts for her birthdays.
During her funeral money was collected for JLSS instead of buying flowers.
We cherish the memory of this wonderful woman who loved our school and did everything she could to support it.
Mr. Saier kindly delivered Euro 2.000 to JLSS as an ear-marked donation towards buying a steel welding-machine for the Industrial Mechanics workshop. It was delivered on 21 June 2018.
He also brought with him technical books for the Industrial Mechanics and Car Mechanics workshops.
Mr. Saier and Mr. Nafaa discussed with the director possible ways for supporting the school in developing curricula for the vocational department and meeting other needs. Concrete plans for future cooperation in developing vocational programs were agreed upon to meet the needs of JLSS students, both men and women.
We express our most sincere gratitude to Mr. Saier for the wonderful friendship and support our school received from the Saier family, past and present.
We also thank Mr. Saier and Mr. Nafaa for their friendship and wonderful support.
