The celebration of Labor Day was postponed this year until Thursday 15 May 2014. The timing was awkward and students needed more time for preparation. The program was held at 1:30 PM in Herman Schneller Hall. The Labor Day program is traditionally prepared by the Vocational Department. It began with the Lebanese national anthem, then the director delivered a short message. He expressed his sincere gratitude to JLSS trainers and members of staff for their dedication and hard work. He also thanked all trainers, students, and members of staff who prepared the program. He then said a short prayer. Students presented sketches on the theme of the occasion. They also enacted representations of every trainer in a very funny but representative caricature which was accompanied with a PowerPoint presentation of photos. Music, poetry and short messages were also part of the program. The Head of the Vocational Department, Mr. Joseph Bou Simaan, concluded with a short message thanking all the Schneller staff for their devoted work.
